Karl Ulrich Nuss (born January 17, 1943 in Stuttgart) is a German sculptor and medalist. He is the son of the sculptor Fritz Nuss (1907–1999). From 1961 to 1964 he trained as a chaser at the state higher technical school for the precious metal trade in Schwäbisch Gmünd. He then studied with Hans Wimmer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg until 1966. In 1967 he moved to the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin (today University of the Arts Berlin) to Bernhard Heiliger, with whom he became a master student in 1969.

Since 1970 he has lived and worked as a freelance sculptor in the Weinstadt district of Strümpfelbach.

In 1972 he was given a teaching position for "Sculptural Design" at the University of Applied Sciences (today University) for Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which he held until 1979.
