FRANK ROWLAND

Diversity is the key word in Frank Rowland's life and artwork.  Born in Altoona, Pa, in 1927; he has lived throughout the United States, spending length of time in Pittsburgh, Phoenix and Chicago.  His interest in art began as a child accompanying his father to W.P.A. art classes at night.  His talents were honed through studies at the School of Display Art in Pittsburgh, the School of the Art Institute, the American Academy of Art and the Academic Art Foundation all in Chicago.

Unable to limit his creativity to fine art, Rowland has been actively involved in architecture, industrial design, illustration, designing sets for film and stage, museum exhibits, book design, film making and commercial art.  All this combined with his vast output of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, murals and sculpture, attest to his creative energy and variety of endeavor.
