Carlos Calvet was born in Lisbon in 1928. He was trained as an architect but pursued painting from an early age. Calvet is known for his surrealist and abstract art and has exhibited in Lisbon at Galeria Buchholz, Galeria Quadrum, and Galeria Almada Negreiros, as well as in exhibitions abroad. Some of his works can be found in national museums and in state and private collections.
