Leopold Richter

Leopold Richter (1896 - 1984) was active/lived in Germany.  Leopold Richter is known for Painting.

Leopoldo Richter was born in 1896.  

Leopoldo Richter was an artist with a German heart and a Colombian soul.   Richter was a traveler who loved to spend long periods in the Amazon jungle and in the Sierra de la Macarena in Colombia.

After fighting in the Second World War and having been a teacher in a German school, Richter decided to travel to Brazil in the mid-30s, to later arrive in Colombia, where he would fall in love with nature and its inhabitants.

For a time he worked as an entomologist at the Institute of Natural Sciences of the National University of Colombia.  However, it was not until the 1950's that he began to publicize his artistic creativity.  After some individual exhibitions, he decided to enter the jungle, an era that marked him emotionally and artistically.
