Renato Paresce

Renato Paresce (1886 - 1937) was active/lived in Italy.  Renato Paresce is known for Painting.

René Herbert Paresce grew up in Florence and Palermo, where he studied physics.  Soon, however, he decided to abandon the university career in favor of a painter's career.  In 1912 he moved to Paris.  There he met Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani, which should affect his early work as well as Paul Cézanne, André Derain and the German Expressionists.

With the beginning of the First World War, the artist took up residence as a correspondent for the daily newspaper "La Stampa" in London.  In the early 1920s he developed his own, post-Cubist-influenced style of 1928-1933 came to full fruition during his involvement with the artists' group "of Italy de Paris".

As one of the leading figures of the internationally oriented Italian avant-garde Paresce presented regularly from 1928 to 1934 at the Biennale in Venice.
