An abstract painter, he received a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation in London, having attended Saint Martin's School of Art. He was awarded the 1st GM, National Society of Fine Arts; Famalicão Biennial, 1972 and is represented at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Soares dos Reis National Museum, in State collections and at the Caldas da Rainha Museum.
