Evald Dahlskog was born in 1894. The versatile artist Ewald Dahlskog devotes himself with great enthusiasm to intarsia, painting, ceramics and glass art. During his lifetime, he became known for developing intarsian from furniture decoration to an independent art form for image creation, and the large artistic assignments that followed made Dahlskog recognized worldwide. Ewald Dahlskog had a youthful mind and a lot of humor. The fine salons suited him as well as the simpler existence and his charismatic personality combined with an outstanding artistic talent led him towards great success. During the 1920's and 30's, Ewald Dahlskog performed some of his most significant works, such as the embellishments for Ivar Kreuger's Match Palace and the ceiling painting "The sowing man" in Stockholm City Hall. When Kreuger set up his bank on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1932, he commissioned Dahlskog to carry out two large frescoes and one intarsia.
