Xu Xiao-Yan is graduated from the Art Department of Hebei Normal University.  Her works were included in the first Biennial Chinese Oil Paintings Exhibition in 1993, the Exhibition of Works by Chinese Women Artists in 1995, "Into the New Century-the Exhibition of Oil Paintings by Young Chinese Artists" in 1997, and the Centennial Art Exhibition by Women Artists at the National Art Museum and the Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painting and Oil Landscape Painting in 1998.  Xu Xiao-Yan focused on the depiction of natural views.  Her works want to express all the lives on the earth following the cycle of seasons and going through all the vicissitudes, before ultimately returning to the vast land.  Her landscapes about the earth are distinctive for their profound humanitarianism.  She is being called "The singer of the China earth.''  Her works are collected by the Shanghai Art Gallery, the art gallery of Mountain Art and   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1061 characters.]  Artist bio
