Till Freiwald was born in 1963, in Germany.  He studied at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe in the 1980's.

In 1991, he received a grant from the State of Baden-Württemberg.  In 1993, he received an additional scholarship for a year's stay in St. Etienne in France.

Since 2006, Freiwald has been living and working in Mecklenburg.  He has exhibited his works in Europe, Canada, and the States.
